M in M : Friends

I first crossed paths with my friend Erin on an early morning walk when we were both pregnant. Six months went by and we met a second time on the same neighborhood street - Vivian had just gotten home from heart surgery and Erin's daughter Hannah was about six weeks old.

Now the four of us walk every Tuesday and Thursday morning. We have around town adventures, share recipes and find excuses to go out for ice cream. We laugh and cry and celebrate; we listen and talk. Lately on our morning walks, the girls have been reaching out from their strollers to hold hands. Vivian started saying "Hannah" last week with the enthusiasm one saves for a favorite friend. I am thankful every day for friends like these.

Each friend represents a world in us,
a world not born until they arrive,
and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.

What a wonderful (and very kismet, it seems) friendship... for all four of you. You two meeting that way was surely no accident!

How sweet that they reach for each other... and that Viv says her name - - it's a good one! :-)
